What the heck is “fun”?

"What the heck do I find fun?"

I want to ask you these questions:

What do YOU genuinely find fun?

WHAT do you genuinely find fun?

What do you GENUINELY find fun?

What do you genuinely find FUN?

It's not what someone else told you is a fun and cool thing to do.

It's not what "everyone else" seems to be doing for fun.

It is possibly quite different to what you did for fun during the previous chapter of your life.

What YOU find fun is something where there is just enough safety, enough stimulation (mental or physical), enough engagement (so you're not overwhelmed, or just bored) and a yummy balance between feeling stretched and feeling at ease.

You'll have a unique recipe of safety, stimulation and engagement, different to everyone else's. And, importantly, this will change over time as you evolve and change.

Fun and play are some of the ways we actually get to know ourselves better.

When we're having fun we're gently pushing our own limits, the limits of our "self"~ within a context of feeling safe enough to do so. So we get to test the boundaries of who we are and HOW we know ourselves, perhaps on our own or in relationship to others and the world around us.

When we play, we get to know ourselves.

What is genuinely fun for you?

Xx Lauren
